Pollution is killing thousands of people every day. Cities across Asia and in Europe have had to shut down and stop traffic to manage “Airpocalypse” pollution events. But how safe is our air in North America?

New research is showing the answer may be – worse than we knew. Pollution causes a range of respiratory diseases, and even short exposure can change how our DNA functions. New science is finding that microscopic bits of air pollution can travel from your nose directly into your brain, and could cause dementia or Alzheimer’s disease in humans.

But now there is a new weapon against pollution – small, portable air monitors that can show the worst contaminants, in real time, at street level. Using portable monitors to give real time levels and CGI to show the invisible particulates in the air, Something in the Air shows the invisible micro-particles in the air. From vehicle exhaust to construction dust and even planes overhead, the documentary shows how air pollution can come from places we least expect.

Something in the Air is a one hour documentary that looks at the most essential element for survival – air. The program will show what’s in the air, the effects on our bodies, and how new technology and a motivated public are changing the equation – for the better.
